A recall is exactly what it sounds like. The vehicle manufacturer is calling your car or truck back so that they can fix something that shouldn’t have gone wrong in the first place. The types of things that can cause a manufacturer recall are countless, but the manufacturer will usually only announce a recall for something that could be dangerous to you or other drivers.

Brake issues, fire dangers, accelerator problems — these are all things that might cause an honest auto manufacturer to recall your vehicle. The upside to a recall is the automaker will pay to have that problem repaired. At least sometimes it’s that simple.
